Multi-compartment compliance aids — sometimes called blister packs, dosette boxes, or medication trays — are a simple way to keep complex medication regimes manageable. We prepare them fresh each week and either deliver or have them ready for collection.

Who is it for?

Blister packs help people who:

  • Take three or more medications regularly.
  • Find it hard to remember whether they have taken a dose.
  • Have arthritis or dexterity issues that make handling small bottles difficult.
  • Have a carer or family member who manages their medication.
  • Are recovering from hospital or transitioning between care settings.

What it looks like

Each blister pack covers a full week. The tray has 28 compartments — one for each dose time across the week (typically morning, lunch, tea, bedtime). Every compartment is filled with the right tablets for that exact dose, and labelled with the day and time.

How to set it up

Setting up a blister pack takes a couple of conversations and about a week of lead time.

  • Pop in or call us to discuss whether blister packs are right for you.
  • We work with your GP to clarify your repeat medication.
  • We arrange a start date and prepare your first tray.
  • Each week thereafter, we prepare a fresh tray for collection or delivery.

Cost

The service itself is free. Standard NHS prescription charges still apply to the medications inside, unless you are exempt or have a Prescription Prepayment Certificate. We can advise on PPCs at sign-up.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to set up?

Allow about a week from your first call to your first tray, while we coordinate with your GP. Once running, your tray is ready every week without further admin from you.

Can I have a tray delivered?

Yes, free local delivery is available to housebound patients across B29.

What if my medication changes?

Just let us know, and we will adjust the next tray. Your GP usually copies us in on changes anyway.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time. There is no contract.
